Terms
Dead Giveaway is a game played in person, with a phone as the referee. It is run by Impossible Works. By joining or hosting a game you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose.
You play Dead Giveaway at your own risk.
The game
- Dead Giveaway is free. There is nothing to buy.
- To play, you join a game your host sets up and connect WhatsApp by sending one message to the game’s number. The game uses that number only to send alerts for that game, as the privacy page explains.
- You need to be old enough to use WhatsApp where you live. WhatsApp’s own terms apply to your use of WhatsApp.
- Your mobile provider’s normal data charges apply. The game never charges you anything.
Playing safely and fairly
- The game is played out in the world, often in busy public places. You are responsible for your own safety. Watch where you are going, follow the rules of the place you are in, and never put yourself or anyone else at risk for the sake of the game.
- Be kind. Winks, bluffing and accusations are part of the fun; harassment, pressure and anything that makes a player or a stranger uncomfortable are not. Anyone can stop playing at any time.
- Don’t try to break, overload or cheat the game, or get at information the game keeps from you.
- Use your own phone and your own WhatsApp number. Don’t join as someone else.
Hosts
- Hosting is by invitation. A host is responsible for inviting only people who have agreed to play.
- Hosts keep their sign-in links private and don’t share their access.
Use at your own risk
You use Dead Giveaway at your own risk. It is provided as it is, without guarantees of any kind. Messages can be late or not arrive, phones run out of battery, and services we rely on (WhatsApp, our hosting and our database) can fail. We may change, pause or end the game at any time.
Impossible Works and its owners, employees, contractors and volunteers take no responsibility for any injury, loss, damage or harm of any kind that comes from playing, hosting, or not being able to play, including anything that happens while you are out playing, how other players behave, and anything at the places you play. To the extent the law allows, you agree not to hold them responsible for any of it. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law says can’t be limited.
Ending your play
You can stop at any time: send STOP to the game’s WhatsApp number, or just stop. We may remove a player or end a game that breaks these terms.
Changes and contact
